Tenancy

The possession or occupation of land or property by a tenant under a lease or other agreement with a landlord. It defines the tenant's right to use the property and the duration of that right. Forms of tenancy include tenancy for years (a fixed period), periodic tenancy (renewing automatically), and tenancy at will (terminable by either party at any time).
