Parade permits

Authorizations issued by a municipal government that grant permission to hold a procession, march, or demonstration on public streets or property. These permits are a form of time, place, and manner regulation, allowing authorities to manage public safety and traffic without infringing on First Amendment rights. Courts have held that permit schemes cannot be based on the content of the speech and must be administered according to clear, objective standards.
