Commercial speech

Speech that proposes a commercial transaction, such as advertising or marketing, or is related solely to the economic interests of the speaker and its audience. While protected by the First Amendment, it receives less protection than political speech. Government regulation of commercial speech is permissible if it directly advances a substantial government interest and is narrowly tailored.
