Mahanoy Area School District v. B.L.

A 2021 United States Supreme Court case that addressed the extent to which public schools can regulate student speech occurring off-campus. The Court ruled that while schools have a diminished interest in regulating off-campus speech, they can do so in certain circumstances, such as threats, harassment, or speech that causes a substantial disruption to the school environment. The decision affirmed some First Amendment protections for students' off-campus expression.
