Perpetuity

A state of indefinite or endless duration. In property law, the concept is most relevant in the context of the Rule Against Perpetuities, which prevents property owners from controlling the disposition of their assets for an excessively long period after their death. This common law doctrine voids future property interests that do not vest within a life in being plus 21 years.
