Quasi-community property

Property acquired by spouses while domiciled in a non-community property state, which would have been community property had they been domiciled in a community property state. Upon divorce or death, this property is treated as if it were community property for division purposes in a community property state. This concept prevents one spouse from being disadvantaged by a change in domicile.
