Quasi-corporation

An entity that possesses some, but not all, of the characteristics of a corporation, allowing it to sue or be sued in its own name and hold property. These organizations are created by statute or common law to perform specific public functions without being formally incorporated. Examples include school districts, counties, and certain public agencies.
