Quasi-personalty
Term · Law · MLC-T-LAW-004084
A legal interest in real property that is treated as personal property for certain purposes, such as inheritance or sale. This classification applies to interests that are less than full ownership of the land itself, including leasehold estates (a tenant's interest in a property) or the right to extract minerals. Unlike true real property, which passes to heirs, a leasehold estate is distributed as part of the decedent's personal estate.
