Quiet title
Term · Law · MLC-T-LAW-004092
A legal action brought in a court to establish a party's ownership of real property against adverse claims. This type of lawsuit seeks to remove any clouds on the title, such as disputed claims, liens, or encumbrances, thereby clarifying the property's legal status. A successful quiet title action results in a judgment that confirms the plaintiff's clear and marketable title to the property.
