Right to jury trial

A constitutional guarantee that allows individuals accused of serious crimes or involved in certain civil disputes to have their case decided by a panel of their peers. This right is protected by the Sixth and Seventh Amendments to the United States Constitution. The jury's role is to determine facts and apply the law as instructed by the judge.
