Service mark

A legal designation for a word, phrase, logo, or symbol used to identify and distinguish the services of one provider from those of others. It functions similarly to a trademark but applies specifically to services rather than goods. Service marks are registered with government agencies, such as the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, to protect against infringement.
