Testamentary

Relating to or created by a will, describing an act or document that takes effect upon the death of its creator. A testamentary disposition is a gift of property made in a will, which is revocable during the person's lifetime and only becomes operative after they die. For a will to be valid, the creator must possess testamentary capacity, which is the mental ability to understand the nature of the document, the extent of their property, and who their beneficiaries are.
