Testamentary power of appointment

A power of appointment that the donee can exercise only by the donee's own will, so any appointment takes effect at the donee's death. The donor creates it in a will, trust, or deed. It is general if the donee may appoint to the donee, the donee's estate, or creditors, and special if the donee is limited to a class of persons the donor designates.
