Trustor

The individual or entity who creates a trust by transferring assets to a trustee for the benefit of beneficiaries. Also known as the settlor or grantor, the trustor defines the terms and conditions under which the trust assets will be managed and distributed. The trustor's intent is paramount in interpreting the trust instrument.
