Free-trade zone (FTZ)

A designated geographic area within a country where goods can be imported, stored, manufactured, and re-exported without being subject to customs duties. These zones are designed to encourage international trade and investment by deferring or eliminating tariffs. Goods are only subject to duties if they enter the domestic market outside the zone.
