Free zone

A designated geographical area within a country where goods can be landed, handled, manufactured, or reconfigured and re-exported without being subject to import duties. While inside the zone, goods are considered to be outside the customs territory of the host country for tax and duty purposes. Customs duties and taxes are only payable if the goods are moved from the free zone into the domestic market.
