Third-party Logistics (3PL)

The outsourcing of logistics and supply chain management functions to an external provider. These services can include transportation, warehousing, inventory management, cross-docking, and freight forwarding. A 3PL provider integrates its operations with the client's business to manage specific aspects of the supply chain, often without owning all the physical assets involved.
