Accelerated erosion

Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-003210

Erosion that occurs at a rate significantly higher than the natural geological rate, often due to human activities such as deforestation, agriculture, or construction. This type of erosion can lead to rapid soil loss, desertification, and increased sediment loads in rivers. It is a major environmental concern impacting land productivity and water quality.
