Aerodynamics

Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-010349

The study of the motion of air and other gaseous fluids, and of the forces acting on bodies moving through them. It is a subfield of fluid dynamics and gas dynamics, with applications in aeronautical engineering, civil engineering, and meteorology. Aerodynamics is divided into incompressible and compressible flow regimes, with the transition determined by the Mach number.
