Air parcel
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-003380
A conceptual volume of air, small enough to be considered internally homogeneous in its thermodynamic properties, yet large enough to contain a representative number of molecules. This theoretical construct is used in atmospheric thermodynamics to analyze processes like adiabatic expansion or compression without considering mixing with the surrounding environment. Its behavior is often modeled as an isolated system.
