Air temperature

A measure of the kinetic energy of air molecules, indicating how hot or cold the atmosphere is at a particular location. It is a fundamental meteorological variable, influencing atmospheric stability, cloud formation, and precipitation. Measurements are commonly taken at a height of 1.25 to 2 meters above the ground in a shaded, well-ventilated enclosure.
