Ambient air

The surrounding outdoor air in a specific location, as it exists in its natural state. Its properties, such as temperature, humidity, and pressure, are measured to characterize the immediate atmospheric environment. In the context of air quality regulations, it is the portion of the atmosphere, external to buildings, to which the general public has access, and for which air quality standards are set.
