Arctic pack

The extensive body of sea ice that covers a large portion of the Arctic Ocean, persisting through multiple years. This multi-year ice is thicker and more saline-depleted than first-year ice, making it more resilient to melting. Its extent and thickness are monitored as indicators of climate change.
