Atmosphere-mixed layer ocean model

Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-010386

A climate model that couples an atmospheric general circulation model with a simplified ocean model, representing only the upper, well-mixed layer of the ocean. This type of model is used to study climate variability on seasonal to interannual timescales. The mixed layer depth in these models is often prescribed or calculated based on surface fluxes.
