Mixed-layer similarity
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-007331
A theoretical framework used to describe the vertical profiles of mean quantities and turbulent fluxes within the atmospheric mixed layer, based on scaling parameters. This approach assumes that the mixed layer is well-mixed and that its properties can be characterized by a few key variables, such as surface heat flux and mixed-layer depth. It is widely applied in boundary layer meteorology to parameterize atmospheric processes.
