Boundary of saturation

Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-004000

The interface within a cloud or atmospheric parcel where the air transitions from unsaturated to saturated conditions. This boundary is typically characterized by a relative humidity of 100% and marks the level where condensation or deposition begins to form cloud droplets or ice crystals. Its position is influenced by temperature, pressure, and the availability of water vapor.
