Saturation level
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-008659
The altitude at which a rising parcel of unsaturated air becomes saturated, typically due to adiabatic cooling. At this level, the air's temperature cools to its dew point temperature, and condensation begins to occur. The saturation level is a key indicator for cloud base formation.
