Cirrus spissatus

A dense, opaque form of cirrus cloud that appears gray and often has a fibrous or silky texture. These clouds are thick enough to obscure the sun or moon, distinguishing them from other, more translucent cirrus types. They frequently originate from the remnants of cumulonimbus anvils.
