Clutter rejection
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-004461
A signal processing technique used in radar systems to remove unwanted echoes from stationary or slow-moving objects, such as buildings, terrain, or biological targets like insects. This process enhances the detection of meteorological phenomena by isolating the signals from precipitation or wind-borne particles. Moving Target Indication (MTI) and Moving Target Detection (MTD) are common methods for achieving clutter rejection.
