Gating
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-005881
A technique used in radar signal processing to isolate and analyze echoes from specific ranges or velocities, effectively filtering out unwanted signals. This method allows for the examination of atmospheric phenomena at particular distances or with certain motion characteristics. In Doppler radar, gating can be applied to separate precipitation echoes from ground clutter.
