Coarse particles
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-004464
Atmospheric particulate matter with an aerodynamic diameter greater than 2.5 micrometers, but generally smaller than 10 micrometers. These particles originate from mechanical processes such as windblown dust, sea spray, and industrial activities. Unlike fine particles, coarse particles settle out of the atmosphere relatively quickly due to gravity.
