Cold conveyor belt

A stream of cold, moist air that originates ahead of a warm front and flows westward beneath the warm conveyor belt. This air ascends as it approaches the low-pressure center, contributing to precipitation formation. It is a key component of the three-dimensional airflow within extratropical cyclones.
