Subtropical high pressure belt

A band of high atmospheric pressure encircling the Earth at approximately 20 to 35 degrees latitude in both hemispheres. This belt is characterized by persistent subsidence of air, leading to clear skies, warm temperatures, and low precipitation. Many of the world's major deserts are located within or adjacent to this belt.
