Colorado low

  1. A low-pressure system that forms or intensifies in the lee of the Rocky Mountains, specifically over the states of Colorado, Wyoming, or Nebraska. These systems move eastward across the central United States, drawing moisture from the Gulf of Mexico. They are responsible for significant weather events, including heavy snowfalls and blizzards in the winter and severe thunderstorms in the spring.

  2. A low pressure storm system that forms in winter in southeastern Colorado or northeastern New Mexico and tracks northeastward across the central plains of the U.S. over a period of several days, producing blizzards and hazardous winter weather.
