Colorado sunken pan

A specific type of evaporation pan used to measure the rate of water evaporation from a free water surface, designed to minimize the influence of external factors like wind and solar radiation. The pan is installed with its rim at or slightly above ground level, and the surrounding soil is kept moist. This design aims to provide a more representative measure of potential evapotranspiration compared to other pan types.
