class-A evaporation pan
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-004322
A standardized instrument used to measure the rate of evaporation from a free water surface. It consists of a circular pan, 120.7 cm (47.5 inches) in diameter and 25.4 cm (10 inches) deep, filled with water and exposed to the atmosphere. The daily change in water level, adjusted for precipitation, provides an estimate of potential evaporation.
