Pan coefficient
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-007790
A dimensionless factor used to convert evaporation measurements from an evaporation pan to actual evapotranspiration from a larger water body or vegetated surface. This coefficient accounts for differences in heat exchange and boundary layer effects between the pan and the natural environment. Typical values range from 0.6 to 0.8 for a Class A evaporation pan.
