Conditional mean

The average value of a variable, calculated under the condition that another specific event or variable state has occurred. In atmospheric science, this could be the average temperature during periods of heavy snowfall, or the average wind speed during a particular type of storm. It provides insight into the typical behavior of a variable under specific circumstances.
