Cyclonic rotation

Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-004833

The spinning motion of a fluid, such as air or water, around a central point of low pressure. This rotation is imparted by the Coriolis effect, which deflects moving objects on a rotating planet. The spin is counter-clockwise in the Northern Hemisphere and follows a clockwise path in the Southern Hemisphere.
