Deconvolution

Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-004887

A computational process that reverses the effects of convolution on recorded data. In atmospheric remote sensing, it is applied to signals from instruments like radar or satellite radiometers to remove blurring caused by the instrument's response function. This process sharpens the resulting image or data profile by estimating the original, undistorted signal.
