Diffraction peak

Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-004999

A maximum intensity point in a diffraction pattern, indicating constructive interference of waves. These peaks occur at specific angles determined by the wavelength of the incident radiation and the size or spacing of the diffracting elements. In atmospheric science, they are relevant to understanding the angular distribution of scattered light from aerosols or cloud particles.
