Diffraction pattern
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-004998
The characteristic distribution of light and dark fringes or rings that results from the diffraction of waves. This pattern is formed when waves encounter an obstacle or aperture and spread out. In atmospheric optics, it is observed in phenomena like coronas and glories, which are produced by the diffraction of sunlight or moonlight by water droplets.
