Earth current
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-005220
An electric current that flows through the Earth's crust, induced by changes in the Earth's magnetic field. These currents can be caused by geomagnetic storms, which are disturbances in the magnetosphere due to solar activity. Strong earth currents can interfere with power grids and communication systems.
