Ebullition
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-005246
The rapid formation and escape of gas bubbles from a liquid, often occurring when the liquid reaches its boiling point or when dissolved gases come out of solution. In atmospheric science, this process can describe the release of gases from water bodies or the formation of bubbles within precipitation. Ebullition is a key mechanism for methane release from wetlands and aquatic environments.
