Ecliptic

The apparent path of the Sun across the celestial sphere over the course of a year, as observed from Earth. It represents the plane of Earth's orbit around the Sun. The ecliptic is inclined at an angle of approximately 23.5 degrees to the celestial equator, which causes the seasons.
