Zodiacal light

A faint, cone-shaped glow of light visible in the night sky shortly after sunset or before sunrise, extending upwards from the horizon along the ecliptic. It is caused by sunlight scattering off dust particles orbiting the Sun in the plane of the solar system. This phenomenon is best observed in areas with minimal light pollution.
