Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-007726

The movement of a celestial body or satellite along a curved path, or orbit, around another, more massive body due to gravitational attraction. This motion is governed by Kepler's laws and Newton's law of universal gravitation. Earth's orbital motion around the Sun dictates the seasons and the length of a year.
