Gravitation

The universal force of attraction between all matter, proportional to the product of their masses and inversely proportional to the square of the distance between their centers. In atmospheric science, it is the force that holds the atmosphere to the Earth and drives the vertical motion of air parcels. Gravitation is a fundamental force governing atmospheric dynamics.
