Energy conversion
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-005373
The transformation of energy from one form to another within the atmosphere or climate system. Examples include the conversion of potential energy to kinetic energy in a descending air parcel or the conversion of solar radiation to thermal energy upon absorption by the Earth's surface. These processes drive atmospheric circulation and weather phenomena.
