Fallout winds

Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-005537

Atmospheric currents that transport and disperse particulate matter, such as volcanic ash or radioactive debris, away from its source. These winds determine the trajectory and deposition pattern of airborne contaminants. The speed and direction of fallout winds are monitored to predict the spread of hazardous materials.
